Help Us Reach West Sussex Residents: Share Our Cost of Living Survey

At Arun & Chichester Citizens Advice, we’ve been closely tracking how rising living costs are affecting local people. This year, we’ve partnered with Citizens Advice in West Sussex (North, South, East) to take this important work county‑wide.

We’re asking residents across West Sussex to complete our Cost of Living Survey so we can better understand the challenges people are facing and how these are changing over time. The insights gathered will directly shape how we support our clients, our communities, and the services we deliver.

This is our fourth annual survey, so even if someone has taken part before, we encourage them to complete it again. Each response helps us understand how the cost-of-living crisis is evolving.

The survey includes three sections:

1. Cost of living

2. Health and wellbeing

3. Demographic information

Every response is valuable and will help build a clearer picture of what local people are experiencing.

We have provided a poster, social media posts, and short messages for you to share across your channels. By working together, we can reach as many West Sussex residents as possible.

Get Winter Ready

Every winter, cold weather places strain on those who are already vulnerable. We know cold homes can be dangerous - the NHS and public health services face additional pressures during the winter months, and health issues can quickly escalate.

Get Winter Ready is our campaign designed to help people prepare for the colder months before winter sets in. Cold weather can be particularly tough for those with respiratory conditions, low incomes, or who are otherwise vulnerable, and we want to ensure the right information and support is accessible in good time. By acting early, households can avoid unnecessary health risks, reduce energy costs, and feel confident going into the winter.

Through this campaign, we are encouraging everyone to take simple, practical steps to get winter ready. We’ve created a clear checklist with advice on preparing your home and looking after your health, and we’re working with local partners to display posters, distribute printed materials, and share information widely online. We’re also equipping frontline staff with resources and winter packs so they can support the community directly.

We know that many people wait until the cold weather arrives before seeking help, but by then it can already be too late. Our goal is to make sure individuals and families feel empowered to prepare early, and know how to get in touch with our energy advice service if they need extra support.

The Get Winter Ready campaign is about prevention, empowerment, and community. It’s about making sure people have the tools, knowledge, and support they need before winter places them at risk.
