Carers Week 2022

6th-12th June 2022

What is Carers Week?

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

The campaign is brought to life by thousands of individuals and organisations who come together to provide support for carers, run activities, highlight the vital role carers play in our communities and draw attention to just how important caring is.

Unpaid carers continue to face challenges because of the pandemic. Many are taking on more caring responsibilities for their relatives and friends who are disabled, of ill health or elderly and are in need of support. Caring can impact on all aspects of life from relationships and health to finances and work.

To celebrate the valiant work of carers, Carers Support West Sussex have put together a programme of carer focused workshops. By attending these workshops, carers will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn something new or improve knowledge
  • Virtually meet others in a similar situation and have a chance to socialise
  • Have a break from caring roles

Due to limited workshops spaces, the free tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. To give as many as possible the opportunity to attend, you’re asked to only book if you're confident you can attend that date and time.
